Past , Future and the Present

I have come to believe in the advice I got and want to share it here :

1)Past should be treated as destiny.Whatever happened was destined to happen. It cannot be changed , so no sense thinking too much about it or brooding over past events. Accept them, learn your lessons and leave them behind. If possible , mentally tie up all your worries in a ball and kick it off. Sometimes i do that just before falling asleep.

2)Treat your Future as Freedom. We still have some control over what we want our future to be. So, go ahead, dream your future , plan for it, set short-term , medium-term and long-term goals. Without setting goals, I become dull and life becomes boring. Go ahead, challenge yourself , learn new skills , make plans for new good habits, Learn a new thing each day. Your future is just a minute ahead of you now.

3)Finally , learn to live in the present moment. Each moment and each day is a gift given to us. That is why its called "Present".Try to be completely immersed in each passing moment. Act without fear or doubt. Work for the sake of working , not for any rewards. Live to enjoy what you do. If not , do what you enjoy more. Realize the importance of time. While time is ever-changing, the soul is never-changing. So, what connects the ever-changing to the never-changing ?

Ever heard of Fever Ramayana ?

While travelling in my carpool yesterday from office to home, I heard a weird term on one of Bangalores FM Radio channels - "Fever Ramayana". I was wondering what could be the connection between these two words.Took me some minutes to figure out that "Fever" is the name of the FM channel we had tuned to.It was a sort of quiz where the questions were from Ramayana and the listeners could call up and answer them.

Well, looks like our journey has progressed (really ?) from "Valmiki Ramayana" to "Fever Ramayana". Not that am complaining as long as we learn some facts from our great epics. However , this got me thinking - what next ? Maybe "Mirchi Mahabharatha" from Radio Mirchi ? Lets wait and see .. so long till my next post.

Singapore and Malaysia

Apr 30th 2010 to 7th May , 2010 : Touring Singapore and Malaysia.

May 1st , 2010 : Our much awaited vacation started off with Pallavi , Guru , Suma and Sumanth meeting us at the Changi airport - what an amazing airport !! - Check out the snaps of the T2 and T3.

Pallavis home ( see snap below ) is a great place at Tampines. After having lovely idlis and a light snooze , we set out to explore the city - had typical Chennai food at Komala vilasa at Little India , went on to see Mustafa , Esplanade and Merlion.

May 2nd , 2010 : Spent the entire day at Sentosa Islands - Visited Images of Singapore , Tiger Tower, Segway ride , Amazing Log ride ( that was super ) and Underwater World. Dolphin show at Underwater world is superb. The tunnel section of the Underwater world is the most interesting part. Post a dip at the beach , spent the evening relaxing to the music and laser show on the beach titled "Song of the Sea". This is a laser show which is technically a master piece with laser lights on the sprays of water forming moving images. Excellent work and a must-see.On return from Sentosa , had dinner at Annalakshmi.

May 3rd, 2010 : Visited Jurong Bird Park. Truly amazing collection of birds - enjoyed the various shows and later on went to Sumas house at Ang Mo Kio for the lovely dinner. Pallavi and Guru joined us at Sumas house and we returned back latenight.

May 4 , 5 , 6 2010 : Tour to KL, Genting , Putrajaya.
Pallavi had joined us for the Malaysia tour. It was a good arrangement made by Guru earlier on with Balaji. Malaysia is a good tourist place - we could visit only KL , Genting and Putrajaya. The Petronas Twin tower is a must-see at KL.

The Batu caves host the Muruggan temple and is a good tourist attraction.

Stay at Star Point at KL was comfortable. May5th saw us heading out to Genting Highlands. The cable car ride is not to be missed. Firstworld hotel Tower 2 , 28th floor - our four rooms all superb and luxurious and what a view !! The outdoor water park is good fun for the family and the indoor rides are good for children. Lucky for us , there was the Indian Food Festival at the First World Hotel where we all enjoyed a good lunch.

May 6th : From Genting to Putrajaya - where there are govt offices. Evening we returned back to S-pore and visited Night Safari.

May 7th , 2010 : Went for ECP early morning. Gautham had a lovely time on the beach.

Later on went out Shopping at Mustafa and had lunch at Saravana Bhavan.
Our vacation ended with us boarding the return flight on 7th night.
Back to Bangalore with sweet memories.

A pleasant morning in Bangalore

Today morning was fantastic at Bangalore..pleasant weather. It had rained heavily yesterday night. First rains of the year 2010. That made the temp dip today morning.
The plants at house have blossomed well. The number of mallige flowers are increasing day-by-day. Today morning , we were tying up the creeper as it had fallen off support due to the rain yesterday. Its superb to get up and go out to smell the fresh air from our portico. Great Start of the day.
